*FIVE NATIONAL MONUMENTS IN QOM REGISTERED

Five monuments in the city of Qom have been registered as national monuments, the director general of Cultural Heritage Department of Qom, Kazem Arab said yesterday. A number of Iranian and foreign journalists visited the remains of a historical village known as Qara Tapeh which dates back to 7,500 years ago. The head of the archaeological group active in this area, Mir Abedin Kabuli, said that the historical sites gradually discovered in this village date back to 6,500 or 7,500 years ago.
They have very fascinating architectural plans, showing that Iranians of the time had great insight in this respect, he said. The journalists also visited Bagh-e Gonbad Sabz that dates back to 600 years ago.
